Battle for the best ‘I’m-a-celebrity-X-Factor’ PR wonder story of the year begins…

So, Sunday sees the return of I’m a Celebrity.  Now, I’m not really a fan, but one thing I do know is that the make-up of tabloid newspapers will change until it’s over.

What with X Factor and now Celebrity, there really won’t be much room for any other stories. So, it’s essential that as PRs we think about ways to capitalise on the two shows.  Every man and his dog seems to have done something with ridiculous sticky-up hair styles, but what fun could be had with the jungle?

PRs looking after zoos with creepy crawly sections could really clean up; Dyno-rod surely can come up with a nifty rat-catching tale; and there must be something in there for semi-permanent make-up specialists?  I know I’m not keen on seeing certain celebs without their war-paint on!

It comes down to that central driver that good PRs always aim for – BEING CREATIVE.  How can we throw our clients into the spotlight in response to what’s happening in the celebrity world?  We’ve got a few things up our sleeves, but one thing I do know is that they have cut-through. If other agencies aren’t doing the same – then they’re definitely missing a trick!
