Today isn’t just any old Friday. In fact, it’s a bittersweet day for Peppermint Soda, as we bid a fond (temporary) farewell to our longest-serving team member, Jane Carroll.

Jane, who heads off on maternity leave today, spearheads Peppermint’s business development team and has been with the agency since October 2007. Working her way up through the ranks, and doing every possible PR task from drafting copy and organising photo calls, to attending media visits and being our pitching guru, Jane is a Peppermint through and through.

Growing from a team of three to 23 in nine years, we’re a tight-knit bunch and there will be a genuine void in the office when ‘JC’ embarks on the next chapter in her life.

As an ode to our wonderful colleague, we wanted to share our favourite ‘Janeisms‘ and some comments from the PR and creative teams about why she’s so treasured:

  • Jane will do anything to win a pitch – including eating pet food! Now that’s dedication.
  • Jane loves a clean kitchen – leave crumbs on the side at your peril.
  • She could sell snow to the Eskimos; her sell-in tactics are unrivaled.
  • She has a wealth of extremely useful information. We now know exactly how to care for our tulips – place them in boiling water, then cold water to avoid them drooping. Try it for yourself, it really works!
  • On the odd occasion, Jane also answers to the name Mary.
  • Her little black book of contacts is something to behold – Sarah Harding, Simon Rimmer and Goldie are all in there. The PR possibilities really are endless.
  • She’s the first person I turn to for advice – without fail.

Our very own office mum has taught each and every one of us something new – with her passion for PR and unwavering will to see us all succeed.

Jane, we really will miss you and can’t wait to meet the latest addition to the Peppermint family!
